Day 1

Fly to San Francisco

Arrive at San Francisco International Airport, we recommend make your way to downtown via the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), a local train connecting the airport to downtown in around 30 minutes and for approx $10 per person per one way. You won't need a car to get around San Francisco, so we recommend picking this up when you're leaving on Day 4. Once you've checked into your hotel, freshen up and explore!

Overnight: The King George Hotel or similar

Day 2

San Francisco

Discover San Francisco's top attractions: walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Alcatraz Island, explore Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown, shop at Pier 39, enjoy Muir Woods' redwood forests, and ride the famous cable cars for a quintessential city experience.

Overnight: The King George Hotel or similar

Day 3

San Francisco

A full day to explore the City by the Bay, beautiful San Francisco, or to enjoy the rolling hills of California’s Wine Country, Napa Valley, where famed wineries welcome you for tours and tastings. Established in 1828, this fertile area is considered the premier wine growing region in the United States. Click here for more ideas.

Continue by Big Sur to San Simeon and then onto Pismo Beach. Pismo Beach has gained the nickname "Clam Capital of the World" due to its abundant supply of Pismo clams. The city is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, particularly Pismo State Beach and Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area.

Overnight: Apple Farm Inn or similar

Day 6

Central Coast - Malibu - Los Angeles/ Anaheim (97 miles)

Los Angeles

A full day at leisure. We can book you onto a tour of Warner Studios, or a bike ride around the Hollywood Hills. You might enjoy a visit to Disneyland. Window shop on Rodeo Drive and star spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Day 8

Los Angeles - Las Vegas (280 miles)

It's worth an early start today to miss the LA rush hour. You can either take the direct route east through the Mojave Desert, visiting the ghost town of Calico en route. Or perhaps skirt the south of the Mojave National Preserve and visit the Wild West town of Oatman Arizona, arriving there by 13.30 you'll get to see the Ghostrider Gunfighters spectacular shootout which takes place daily in the middle of the town. Continue onto Las Vegas where you'll be staying for the next couple of nights.

Overnight: Excalibur or similar

Day 9

Las Vegas (Grand Canyon optional)

A full day at leisure for you to either take a short drive to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, or see one of the great natural wonders of the world, the spectacular Grand Canyon, on an optional day trip from Las Vegas by air.
