Tish and Peter share their USA holiday story with us

Tish and Peter travelled with friends on one of our East Coast USA & Canada Escorted Tours. Here's what they had to say:

We're happy to share our holiday story with you - it was absolutely fabulous!
 
We did have some concerns before going - we'd had some great Escorted Holidays before (twice to Italy, Spain, Switzerland, California and the Deep South of America) and apart from one they had all been so good we wanted to do another one!

Some of our guides on our previous holidays were definitely better than others and we really hoped given the itinerary that this trip would have a "goodie". We were covering a vast amount of miles in a short space of time and were concerned how that would pan out - we needn't have worried - our guide Julie was phenomenal- what she didn't know wasn't worth knowing and she had just the best sense of humour. We were also incredibly lucky with a group of just 8 and we couldn't have had more entertaining travelling companions if we had hand-picked them!

We wanted to see this side of America as we had heard so much about New York and the other cities and Cape Cod was on our "bucket list", we also wanted a comparison to the other parts of the USA we had already seen.

We loved most of the itinerary, however Toronto should be missed out completely as should Niagara Town to allow us more time in places like Niagara on the Lake and Montreal. The pace was fine and Julie ensured (as we were in a "Sprinter and not a coach) that we stopped at every place of interest or natural beauty and made great suggestions re food and drink.

The hotel in New York was VERY basic but saying that it was in a good location and we were lucky enough to have a travel agent from OZ who knew all the great places to go for a lively time (and we certainly did have a lively time!) We felt the hotel in Niagara was not really up to standard and we couldn't wait to leave it, so again, maybe a re-think on that one.

Too many highlights to mention, New York and Washington were awesome, Cape Cod and Portland fabulous, Montreal a delight, I could go on and on. We found amazing places to eat and tried local food whenever possible, we can't wait to plan our next trip but running out of ideas for USA and Canada within our budget.

American Sky was helpful from the outset and I would recommend them (and indeed have already!)

Any advice to set you apart from other travel companies would be to keep the groups small like ours, use guides like Julie, take out the shabby downtrodden places and hotels, other than that keep it the same.
