Days 1 - 4

Miami

Miami is a place where you can enjoy many different experiences, depending on your mood or temperament. You can relax on the beach or jog along the boardwalk. You can admire the architecture or shop ‘til you drop. You can spend the evening people-watching or strut your stuff on the dance floor. Miami is known for its beautiful beaches, multi-cultural atmosphere and sunny weather. With a wealth of shopping centres, beach activities, trendy nightlife and cultural hotspots, Miami is equally good for a weekend break, part of a multi-centre, or a full-on fortnight holiday.

There are several different parts of Miami, but the two key areas for holiday-makers are Miami Beach and South Beach. Technically, South Beach is a part of Miami Beach. The barrier island that runs along the coast of downtown Miami is called Miami Beach, and the southernmost tip of this island is South Beach. Here you will find beautiful Art Deco architecture, designer boutiques and world famous nightlife – South Beach is where the action is. Miami Beach runs further north, and is less crowded, better value and takes in some excellent family resort hotels with great facilities. If you want to be in the centre of the action, and don’t mind paying the premium for one of the most expensive destinations in Florida then choose a hotel in South Beach. If you want to have a more laid-back stay but still be just a short taxi ride away from the fun, then choose a resort hotel in Miami Beach.

Days 4 - 11

Cancun

Blessed with lovely white sand beaches, temperate Caribbean waters and an infectious merry spirit, Cancun can be the place to party all night or the place to relax all day – the choice is yours. It is, however, undoubtedly Mexico’s most luxurious region. Cancun has developed quickly from a tiny fishing village into one of the Caribbean’s premiere destinations. This fast-paced, tourist-driven development might make you assume that the concept of culture is null and void. But this is still Mexico; it hasn’t lost any of its charm.

While Cancun comes from Mayan beginnings (and no-one is exactly sure what ‘Cancun’ means) the recent development of the city has seen the population grow through people from other parts of Mexico heading here for the prosperity. The result is a mixture of Mexican traditions and customs, but a culture based around providing excellent service to tourists.
