This charming beach resort derived its name from a hotel owner many years ago, who once buried and then ‘discovered’ a couple of wooden chests filled with ‘treasure’. Though gold hasn’t been found here yet, the stunning three-mile beach is certainly seen as a jewel amongst St Pete Clearwater’s vicinity, adorned with beach-worshippers swimming and snorkelling, great ocean-view restaurants, and apparently the world’s longest waterfront bar – Gators Café & Saloon.
