Lorna & Seamus share their Orlando holiday story

Lorna & Seamus travelled to Orlando with their 2 children and stayed at Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando. Here's what they had to say:

I’ve been to Florida before, but as it was six years ago since I last visited I wanted to take the whole family there. We absolutely loved it, and would go back in a heartbeat.

We love how friendly everyone is in America, they’re all just so happy to see you - we travelled to Florida during the 4th of July celebrations, and they just made us feel really welcome. I’d definitely recommend visiting over that time – it felt really special and they sure know how to celebrate. On the day we went along to a restaurant and it was full of balloons and there was an amazing fireworks display.  

Our hotel, Rosen Inn, was fantastic, and good value for money. It had everything every family needs, from three pools and a playground, to a great bar and evening entertainment. The food was fabulous there too – the steak especially - and our kids had a lot of fun. 

The theme parks are amazing. My favourites were Epcot and Magic Kingdom – which is just so iconic – and it was great to see Animal Kingdom for the first time, the safari there was fantastic. One of my favourite memories is my five year old getting to meet Mickey Mouse, he was so excited, and Chewbacca got a lot of hugs when we met him in Hollywood Studios.

I’d definitely recommend hiring a car while you’re there. It’s so easy – there are so many more roads than there were six years ago, and everything is so well sign posted. The shopping in Florida is brilliant too, especially around the International Drive area, and everything is such great value for money. We’d also recommend Copper Canyon Grill in Pointe Orlando – it’s a bit more expensive than other restaurants, but all of the food was spectacular.
