Arrive in Atlanta
Fly to Atlanta and transfer independently to your hotel where you will meet your Tour Manager.

Day 2
Atlanta
Beginning your holiday with a city tour of Atlanta, including the childhood home of Martin Luther King. You will also learn about another famous resident Margaret Mitchell, writer of Gone with the Wind. Visit the Stately Oaks Plantation, inspiration for the plantation in the film, and the “Road to Tara” museum, where you will be able to see memorabilia from the film including the costumes worn by Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. This evening enjoy a welcome reception.

Day 3
Atlanta – Augusta – Charleston
Leave Atlanta this morning and journey west to Augusta, the second oldest city in Georgia and home to the prestigious Masters golf tournament. Later in the afternoon you will arrive into the charming and historic town of Charleston.

Day 4
Charleston – Savannah
Start your morning by immersing yourself in the rich history of Charleston with a locally guided tour through the well-preserved historic district, renowned as the most meticulously safeguarded in the country. Despite enduring the brunt of natural calamities, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War, this picturesque city remains a shining jewel in the Southern landscape. As the day progresses, consider delving deeper into the region's history by opting for an excursion to the esteemed Boone Hall Plantation, celebrated for its iconic Avenue of Oaks. Notably featured in several American films, including "North and South," this plantation offers an insightful glimpse into the area's historical tapestry.

Day 5
Savannah
You have a full day to enjoy the charms of Savannah, once the worlds largest cotton port, when cotton was King. Savannah was spared the ravages of the Civil War and you will be able to stroll the buildings around the tree-shaded squares, dating back hundreds of years.

Day 6
Savannah – Montgomery
Travel west into the heart of the Deep South and the state of Alabama. You’ll arrive in Montgomery, the state capital and central to the American Civil Rights Movement. Visit the Rosa Parks Library and Museum and learn all about the Montgomery Bus Boycott. You may also want to visit the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church.

Day 7
Montgomery – Selma – New Orleans
Head to Selma Alabama, another town central to the Civil Rights Movement. Here you will visit the Edmund Pettis Bridge where the historic march from Selma to Montgomery begin and where the brutal evens of Bloody Sunday took place. Then continue south through Mississippi to New Orleans. This city is a unique blend of French, Spanish, Caribbean and African cultures, which you will discover through the food, the music and the architecture. You could choose an optional Riverboat Dinner Cruise to enjoy the rhythms of a Dixieland jazz band this evening.

Day 8
New Orleans
A full day at leisure to experience the charms of New Orleans. There is an optional excursion to a working plantation. Or simply stroll the French Quarter, admiring the lovely buildings with wrought iron balconies and soaking up the atmosphere.

Day 9
New Orleans – Baton Rouge – Natchez
This morning travel to the capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge and enjoy a city tour. Continue onto Natchez, the oldest European settlement on the Mississippi River, a stunning town filled with Antebellum Mansions. In the afternoon you will visit one of these mansions and learn about the life and wealth of its original owners.

Day 10
Natchez – Mississippi River Valley - Memphis
Drive through the Mississippi Valley to the iconic city of Memphis, known as the Home of the Blues. A brief city tour will take you to the city’s liveliest street Beale Street and historic Front Street. There is an optional visit to Elvis Presley’s Graceland or you could choose to visit the fascinating Civil Rights Museum, built around the Lorraine Motel, site of the assassination of Martin Luther King.

Day 11
Memphis – Nashville
Move onto another great music city – Nashville – known as the capital of country music. Here you can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry and RCA Studio B (optional)

Day 12
Nashville
Enjoy a city tour this morning taking in all the sights. This evening you can choose a dinner and a live show as an optional excursion.

Day 13
Nashville – Chattanooga – Atlanta
Head to Chattanooga home to the famous Choo Choo, a city which has undergone award-winning redevelopment of its riverfront and downtown. You will then return to Atlanta and can complete your holiday with some last minute shopping or a visit to one of Atlanta’s attractions such as the World of Coca Cola or the CNN Center.

Day 14
Depart Atlanta
Today you will transfer independently to the airport for your flight home.
